Teams Screen Share Black Screen Fix
You click "Share Content," but your colleagues only see a black box. This is a common "DWM" (Desktop Window Manager) handshake failure. Againly fixes this automatically by forcing a graphics plane refresh and re-allocating the frame buffer.
Why this happens
- Hardware Acceleration Bug: Your GPU driver is failing to encode the shared screen region in real-time.
- Copyright Protection: Having an app like Netflix or a banking site open can trigger "HDCP" which blacks out the entire share.
- Multi-Monitor Dpi: If you share a 4K screen to someone on a 1080p screen, Teams can fail to scale the capture.
Fix it manually
- Toggle Acceleration: Teams Settings > General > uncheck "Disable GPU hardware acceleration" (or check it if it's already off).
- Share Window, Not Screen: Instead of sharing "Screen 1," try sharing just the specific "Slide Deck" window.
- Lower Resolution: Reduce your screen resolution to 1920x1080 before sharing.
Fix it automatically with Againly
Againly resets the "Media Foundation" relay in under 2 minutes, ensuring your screen share registers correctly on the first click.
