Can't Hear Anyone in Microsoft Teams
It’s the universal gesture: everyone is talking but you can't hear a word. This is usually a "Default Device" flip in the Windows sound mixer. Againly fixes this automatically by forcing Teams to use your active speakers/headphones.
Why this happens
- Phantom Output: Teams has selected a "Virtual Audio" output or a secondary monitor as your default speaker.
- Service Mute: The "Audio Graph" service for Teams has crashed or been muted in the Volume Mixer.
- Bluetooth Handshake: Your headphones are in "Hands-Free" mode instead of "Stereo," which Teams often fails to handle.
Fix it manually
- Volume Mixer: Right-click the Speaker icon > Open Volume Mixer > Ensure Teams is not muted and is set to the correct device.
- Teams Settings: In the meeting, click
...> Device Settings > Check the Speaker dropdown. - Restart Audio Service: Open Cmd as Admin and type
net stop audiosrvthennet start audiosrv.
Fix it automatically with Againly
Againly's "AudioLock" ensures that your work apps always route sound to your primary output, regardless of what other apps you open.
